Over this past Summer I was given the amazing opportunity to be a part of the first group of students in Sacred Heart’s Career Center’s newest alumni-mentoring program called SHU MVP. Through this program I was matched with a recent Sacred Heart Alumni who is in my career field of interest. My mentor is currently a student in a Physician Assistant program and was able to give useful and relatable advice. Through this program I not only became more confident in my decision of joining the health care field, I also now have a mentor to guide me throughout the next couple of years where I apply to Physician Assistant programs. This program has brought a resource into my life that I am so grateful for. I hope one day I am given the chance to be a mentor and help students just like me.
