Event Recap: Coffee & Conversations – How the Pandemic has Shifted our Workplace and Hiring

The Center for Career & Professional Development delivered another event in their Coffee & Conversations series on the evening of March 23rd.  The virtual roundtable discussion focused on How the Pandemic has Shifted our Workplace and Hiring, and the Impact it will continue to have on Human Resources Management.

Michael Carriger, Executive Director for Instructional Innovation, Center for Excellence and Innovation in Teaching, Sacred Heart University and Aakriti Aggarwal, Senior Solutions Consultant, SimplifyVMS – SHU MSHRM ’20 joined the discussion, and provided insights and thoughts related to the “accelerating change that’s already in place”.  Several students joined the conversation which allowed for a robust exchange of ideas and experiences, as we collectively discussed the inevitable changes that the pandemic will deliver to the workforce, workplace, company culture, employee connectivity and productivity.  Most importantly, we discussed the need for those who hold HR roles to strategically and creatively respond, and how exciting it is to be a graduating MSHRM student during this time with the limitless opportunities available to impact change.  We all agreed it would be fascinating to hold a sequel to our event, to discuss the workplace and workforce shifts that were implemented after experiencing this historical time for us all!
