Event Recap: Morgan Stanley Info Session (2-15-22)

Morgan Stanley Presented tot a group of students on Tuesday February 17th. The company had a number of representatives from the firm who mainly working the wealth management practice. The main topic of conversation was about their VEA program. John H. Price, Kate L. Blumenthal, and Leo Grizzaffi presented to the students

Morgan Stanley kicked off the session by talking about core values that the company was founded on, those being:

Morgan Stanley is broken up into a few different board sectors: Institutional Securities Group, Wealth Management, and Investment Management. Wealth Management represents 60,000 employees in 38 countries and they support 58% of firm’s revenue. Wealth Management has home office as well as in the field experience. Dealing with the corporate side of things. They support financial advisors do things like research, product development, and any other services.

Morgan Stanley then covered the VEA Program. The program consists of 2 years and 3 months of training/licensing with 24 months “on the desk”. Some requirements are that all candidates must pass the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam before an official offer is made. All VEAs are required to obtain the Series 7 and 63 Licenses within 3 months of joining the team.

What does a VEA do?

VEA’s work with about 15 financial groups across the country to grow their asset base by scaling their practice and deepening client relationships. VEA’S assist financial advisors in developing a client contact model to improve client relationships. They also leverage social media, email, and websites to increase visibility with clients to generate inbound activity. Manage digital engagement strategy to provide FA’s with additional time to spend with clients. Lastly, they assist with client adoption of online tools and perform book of business diagnostics
