Interstride: Your Road to Success in the U.S Starts Here!
Interstride is an integrated platform that supports international students throughout their experience in the U.S and beyond. Review the materials below for more information on how you can utilize Interstride as a student and alum!
Your career coach will be happy to meet with you for any support you may need during and after your time at Sacred Heart. Typically, students will book time for feedback or help on topics such as resume building, interview prep, and job search efficiency.

To help prepare for your appointment, here are answers to some of the more common questions we receive:
That’s okay! If you need to reschedule, simply reach out to your career coach and let them know that you will not be available at your scheduled time. Then, log in to Handshake to reschedule your booking.
You should bring anything you feel will be helpful for your conversation. In most cases, students will bring whatever resume they are currently working on as well as examples of types of jobs they are interested in, either through shared links or specific titles.
Your career coach is open to meeting you at a frequency and pace that is manageable for you. Feel free to book time through Handshake whenever you need. There is no limit or minimum to appointments.
While your career coach may be able to give you guidance on best practices, all legal or visa related questions should be directed to the amazing folks in the Office of Immigration and International Services, who can be reached at oiis@sacredheart.edu.

Handshake is a service you will use to search for jobs, book appointments and stay up to date on everything happening at SHU. Find relevant jobs, check on upcoming events, and see which employers are attending our various career fairs all through this portal!
Onetonline is a great resource to learn more about the jobs you may be looking for. By searching for your desired job title, you’ll find information such as market outlook, sample job descriptions, and commonly sought skills and abilities.
