We are looking for an enthusiastic, responsible, self-motivated, detail-oriented Creative Communications Coordinator to give new life to internal and external communications. This person will conceptualize, design, and create engaging content to promote the mission and brand of Framingham Public Schools (FPS). The ultimate goal is to create a consistent, accessible, and visually appealing presence for FPS, enhancing digital and physical communication for all FPS stakeholders including students, staff, parents, and the broader Framingham community. This employee will work collaboratively with the Media and Communications Manager to promote the achievements of the FPS students and staff; to create content that engages future FPS families and the broader community; and to support talent recruitment efforts. The Creative Communications Coordinator will produce strategic and innovative content to tell a visual story in accessible and informative ways via printed material, online graphics, infographics, district, and school websites and social media, videos, and/or any other forms of creative and visual communication. Key to this position are strong photography and videography skills with editing experience. The Creative Communications Coordinator will also provide audio-visual set-up for events, conduct photoshoots, and provide creative and technical support for multimedia projects.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- BS/BA in fine arts, marketing, communications, or relevant field.
- Three – five (3-5) years experience:
- designing and developing graphics, multimedia presentations, videos, websites, visual displays, marketing materials, publications and other materials;
- designing and creating digital content for posting to websites, social media campaigns, and e-marketing purposes;
- producing and editing digital video, photo, and multimedia content for presentations and events;
- Additional experience working with a variety of graphic, video, and web-based software applications (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, Motion, PowerPoint, YouTube Studio, etc);
- Experience in social media platforms, web design, and content production
- Proficient command in Spanish and/or Portuguese preferred.

Essential Duties Overview
- Initiate, develop, produce and edit creative and engaging mission-driven graphics, photos, and videos for the district communication channels (social media, website, e-newsletters, and print media).
- Create clear, concise, user-friendly multimedia content to be used in print material and across digital communication platforms.
- Assure that all visual communication is ADA-compliant and meets or exceeds current accessibility guidelines.
- Work cross-functionally with a variety of individuals and groups, and facilitate translation of materials, publications and graphics.
- Work successfully on multiple projects and manage project design from inception to completion with established timelines.
- Develop and implement short-term and long-range visual communication strategies to: improve public understanding of the FPS’ efforts associated with teaching and learning for all students; raise awareness of successful school and District practices; and gain recognition for successful school and District practices
- Ensure compliance with media consent preferences of parents/guardians and obtain necessary identifications of students/staff in media, as needed.
- Be knowledgeable about developments, trends, and news related to nearby school districts, public education in general, public relations, and effective communication.
Graphic and Visual Design
- Design promotional material to support District events which may include save-the-dates, invitations, cover images for event websites, printed programs, fact sheets, and more.
- Design and produce District publications including annual District calendars, Kindergarten Booklet, Newcomer Guide, and more.
- Create infographics, images, videos, postcards/posters, fact sheets, flyers, presentation and newsletter templates, etc. to help communicate District goals, initiatives, and priorities to FPS stakeholders including school-based and central staff, parents, students, community and business leaders.
Training and Professional Development
- Provide technical support to schools and central office staff as needed for communication best practices regarding image size, dimensions, specifications, resolution, etc.
Marketing and Branding
- Develop marketing collateral to promote for use at community events, career fairs, school open houses, and other activities.
- Develop presentations to promote school and District initiatives and successes at targeted events.
- Support the development and management of District-wide branding initiatives.
Photography / Videography
- Create, catalog, and maintain a library of multimedia presentations, graphic images, photos, video, and other digital assets for use across departments, offices, and schools.
- Produce and edit video and multimedia content;
- Transfer video and graphical images among various forms of media (e.g. print, video, internet, digital camera);
- Capture virtual and/or in-person events, programs, and activities for branding, marketing, and messaging purposes via photo and/or video;
- Research current and emerging technology to advance the development and delivery of digital content through innovative mediums;
Perform other related duties as requested by the Superintendent and the Media and Communications Manager.

- Standard hours of this position are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, M-F. Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance is required. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
