The English Club is committed to fulfilling students’ interests in literature and writing. The club facilitates academic discussion and all kinds of creative writing. It also hosts periodic open mic nights, and in 2018 release its chapter book “Roots,” which features a selection of short literature written by members of the club. This club is open to all full-time undergraduate students, not just English majors.
“One of the core beliefs of Sacred Heart University is that we are a family, and no group exemplifies that more than the English Club. The English Club allows us to explore and improve upon our creativity in a welcoming, friendly environment where we can meet others who are passionate about reading and writing. Even though we come from a wide range of majors, we all have a love for books and want to share that love with the rest of the Sacred Heart community. Whether we discuss books we’ve read or simply stay quiet and write, the club meetings never fail to disappoint and always help inspire us to continue reading and writing.” – Jill Amari Class of 2023
