The Sacred Heart University math club strives to increase the awareness of mathematics. Such efforts include: an annual “Alumni Night” where former majors from SHU came back to speak with current students about their careers and how their math backgrounds have helped, gathering information on graduate schools and displaying them, inviting mathematicians to speak on campus, and reaching out to local elementary/intermediate schools to promote math. We are always looking for new and innovative ideas to expand our mission.
“The SHU Math Club is welcoming to any naturally inquisitive or curious individuals regardless of major. If you like puzzles, problem-solving, or escape rooms this club is a good match. The Math Club partners with local elementary schools, K-5, and organizes an Annual Math Olympics. Seeing the kids’ faces light up on a field trip to our hard work makes it all worth it.”- Matt Andriunas, Class of 2021
