The Pre-Physical Therapy’s club aim is to provide any full-time undergraduate student pursuing physical therapy school with information on graduate programs, with volunteer opportunities in the local area and to set up a mentorship with older and graduate level students. Students with any undergraduate major are welcomed to join our club.
“The Pre-Physical Therapy Club has given SHU students interested in PT the chance to explore this incredible field while learning the steps of what it takes to become a DPT. This club has a ton of opportunities to get more involved in the Physical Therapy career path. For example, it offers volunteer opportunities, different places to obtain observation hours, resume workshops and even Q&As from DPT students at SHU! This club is special because although many club members have different majors like Biology, Exercise Science, Health Science and Psychology, everyone is gathered together for one common goal: wanting to help heal others in the future. This club is very beneficial for students who are interested in pursuing this profession and has introduced me to many people who share the same passion for Physical Therapy as me. I am grateful to hold the position of Events Coordinator, and look forward to helping members of this club by providing new and exciting events for them take part in!” -Lauren Miastkowski, Class of 2021
