SATO was established to aid students that are interested in a career in athletic training. The club educates its members by holding workshops, monthly meetings and reviewing current procedures in accordance with the National Athletic Trainers Association. Throughout the academic year we host fundraisers, events and monthly meetings. We use fundraisers to raise money for our club, which goes directly to the interests of the students. Fundraisers are also used to raise money for various organizations such as Relay for Life, National Multiple Sclerosis Society and our Patrick McCaughey Scholarship. Other events include our annual Moe’s fundraiser, Chipotle fundraiser, Massage Nights, MS Walk, various community service activities, Christmas dinner and end of the year barbecue. At monthly meetings we discuss and organize upcoming events, hold tutoring sessions once the meeting has concluded, and for the most part, just hang out!
SATO is a great way to know your fellow athletic training students, get tips from older students and take advantage of all the club has to offer. Joining SATO will allow you to form a bond with students beyond the classroom and it is a safe, fun environment to get involved and de-stress from class!
“SATO has given us the opportunity to engage in not only social experiences with other students on campus, but has allowed us to utilize our clinical education skills. From running massage nights to supporting local MS walk, we have had many wonderful experiences. This club has also allowed us to meet outside of the classroom and share our experiences together as athletic training students.
