The mission of the Multicultural Council is to enhance the experiences of all SHU students through events, speakers, and activities hosted by the council and the multicultural clubs within it.
“I’d like to say that Sacred Heart is a great school and I love it. One thing I did notice however was that it was not very diverse. I came from a high school that was similar, and when I came to college I did want to be able to see more cultures and diversity because I believe that representation does matter. When I walked into the first meeting of the MCC I felt immediately happy. It is nice to see people of many cultures and converse with them, and I definitely needed that. Being lost in the school can be intimidating, especially as a freshman, but I felt welcomed right from the start by the MCC and I want that feeling to be spread to other people that want to join in the future. The MCC means a lot to me because it shows us to embrace who we are, and a lot of people need that in their lives.“ -Stephanie Butler Class of 2023
