With everything going on, are companies even hiring?

Yes, there are many companies that are hiring for both internships and full-time opportunities- some are even thriving. Many companies are revamping their internship programs to virtual formats, to accommodate these uncertain times. Like with any job search, it is important to be strategic while at the same time being open to new opportunities.
Will there be on-campus interviews?

On-campus interviews have been suspended until Fall 2020, however professional interviews are still being held through resume referrals and ‘on-campus’ recruitment – in a virtual manner.
What about Career & Internship Fairs?

Yes! The center is dedicated to providing you the same resources, in various methods! This spring 2020, we hosted our inaugural Virtual Career & Internship Fair – which hosted over 415 conversations between students and employers. Several fairs are also scheduled for the upcoming fair, which are being prepared to be launched in various formats.
Can I do an on-site internship this summer 2020 if restrictions have lifted?

The format of your internship can be mutually decided upon between the student and the employer host. Please be sure to check and adhere to all CDC guidelines. Should a student need guidance, please contact Career & Professional Development.

What if my planned internship offer for the summer did not work out?

If your planned internship fell through, please contact your faculty internship coordinator. Afterwards, the Center for Career & Professional Development is here to assist you with locating a new opportunity.
When should I look for a job or internship?

Start Early! We recommend you search a ‘semester’ early. For instance, if you are graduating in May – you should send our applications beginning January. Give yourself plenty of time – the hiring process takes a few weeks or even months!
